Tegan & Sara

Tegan and Sara est un groupe de musique indie canadien originaire d'Alberta. Le groupe est composé de jumelles, Tegan Rain Quin et Sara Kiersten Quin, nées le 19 septembre 1980. Leur musique évolue constamment, baignant dans le folk, le rock et le pop.

Tegan et Sara sont originaires de Calgary, la première habite maintenant Vancouver alors que la seconde est établie à Montréal. Parmi les rêves que caressait Tegan alors qu'elle était petite, elle désirait devenir clown, devenir vétérinaire pour les ours polaires de l'arctique et devenir rock star. Étonnamment, Sara voulait s'installer à Boston pour y être avocate.

Les jumelles commencent à composer au milieu des années 90. Elles sortent leurs premières démos, Yellow Tape, The Orange Tape et The Red Tape, avant de produire (sous le nom de Sara and Tegan) un premier album intitulé Under Feet Like Ours. Le duo est alors remarqué par le président de Vapor Records, Elliot Roberts, avec lequel elles signent pour l'album This Business of Art (2000)[1]. Tegan & Sara enchaînent avec If It Was You en 2002. So Jealous, produit par Tegan & Sara avec l'aide de John Collins, David Carswell et Howard Redekopp, et enregistré à Vancouver, paraît en 2004. Leur dernier album, The Con, co-réalisé par le duo et Chris Walla de Death Cab For Cutie, est paru le 24 juillet 2007. Il est disponible accompagné d'un DVD relatant la conception de l'album.
